JI\u2019s Canvas storage quota limits imports to 1GB. Duplicate data can be minimized by using the\u00a0<strong>Import Specific Content<\/strong>\u00a0feature which allows manual selection of content. Setting up the gradebook at the beginning of the semester helps students see accurate grades and minimizes required work at the end of the semester. To set up the gradebook:\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Settings:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sjtu.feishu.cn\/minutes\/obcn9sgr3e9sw927dzi6v4x3\">Establishing a Grading Scheme<\/a>\u00a0ensures the gradebook can be transferred to Howdy.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Grades:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sjtu.feishu.cn\/minutes\/obcn9s277s53m635us66c4sx\">Create Late and Missing Policies<\/a>\u00a0at the beginning of a course means the policies are applied accurately across all assignments.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Assignments:\u00a0<\/p><ol><li><a href=\"https:\/\/sjtu.feishu.cn\/minutes\/obcnaf98p826nkr2z13v56vq\">Create Assignment Groups<\/a>\u00a0for weight-based courses. Assignment groups should follow what is outlined in the syllabus. Point-based courses may not need assignment groups.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><ol><li><a href=\"https:\/\/sjtu.feishu.cn\/minutes\/obcnaf3q1m6ir74f7959nwq5\">Create Assignment Rules<\/a>\u00a0such as dropping lowest or highest score(s) or choosing assignment(s) that will not be dropped.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><ol><li><a href=\"https:\/\/sjtu.feishu.cn\/minutes\/obcnaf1pe2o93872umdcb4b6\">Edit Due Dates<\/a>\u00a0if content is imported or copied from another Canvas course. Pages establish the foundation of the module. In the course template, several examples have been populated and can be copied.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Assessment Creation\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>It is best to use a backwards design approach and create assessments before creating other content.\u00a0 Assessments can fall under:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-create-an-assignment\/ta-p\/740\">Assignments:<\/a>For file-based, video-based, or text-based submissions (e.g., Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, or typing content directly).\u00a0<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-create-a-discussion-as-an-instructor\/ta-p\/1029\">Discussions:<\/a>For asynchronous interaction.
