Downloading and Importing the Template<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Follow these step-by-step instructions to import the template into a Canvas Sandbox. You can then choose the sections of the template you would like to import into your course.\u00a0**Note:<\/span>\u00a0We DO NOT recommend importing the entire template into an existing course with developed content. Import the Canvas Course Template<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Use the links above to download the appropriate Canvas Template Export File. The file is in .imscc format (Do not try to open this file).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Go to JI Canvas and log in with your JAccount<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Enter the Canvas Course and click on the “Settings” tab in the left side menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Click on the “Import Course Content” link on the right side menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. For\u00a0Content Type,<\/em>\u00a0select “Canvas Course Export Package” in the drop down menu<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Then browse for the .imscc file that you downloaded in Step 1<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. For\u00a0Content,\u00a0<\/em>select “All Content”<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Click the “Import” button.\u00a0The process may take a few minutes to complete.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. The template is now imported into your Canvas Course<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It is recommended to first import the Canvas Course template into a Canvas Course before importing specific content into your Canvas Course. Follow the instructions in the section above to import the template into a Canvas Course before proceeding with the instructions in this section.<\/p>\n

    Import Specific Content from the Canvas Course Template to your Canvas Course<\/em><\/h4>\n

    1. Follow the directions in the section above to import the Canvas template into a Canvas Course<\/li>\n
    2. Go to the Settings section of your Canvas Course<\/li>\n
    3. On the right side menu click on “Import Course Content”<\/li>\n
    4. For\u00a0Content Type<\/em>\u00a0select “Copy a Canvas Course”<\/li>\n
    5. For\u00a0Search for a Course<\/em>, Select the Canvas Sandbox that you imported the course template into<\/li>\n
    6. For\u00a0Content<\/em>: “Select Specific Content”<\/li>\n
    7. Click “Import”<\/li>\n
    8. A blue button will appear that says “Select Content”<\/li>\n
