Covering over 20 distinct scenarios, from centimeter-level to kilometer-level, the collection captures both common indoor and outdoor environments as well as specialized configurations such as near-field, in-vehicle, and data center. With a maximum center frequency of up to 400 GHz and more than 600,000 recorded channel impulse responses (CIRs), this repository stands as one of the most extensive and detailed public resources of its kind.

Another key strength of the dataset lies in its inclusion of both communication and sensing channel data under identical scenarios, enabling integrated research and cross-domain applications. We also establish a material reflection database containing over 30 types and over 200 common material samples which is categorized into biological materials, metals, building materials and functional materials.

The repository is systematically organized into three core components to facilitate easy access. First, the Measurement Datasets are categorized according to scenario scale, allowing users to efficiently navigate and select data from specific scenarios. Second, the Sounder Systems section provides detailed documentation of the advanced hardware and software employed in our measurement. Finally, the Processing section offers the explanation of the methodologies used to transform raw measurements into refined and reliable channel data.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://sites.gc.sjtu.edu.cn/twcd/wp-content/uploads/sites/45/2025/11/scenariosss.png” title_text=”scenariosss” align=”center” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”757,795,734,756,760,759,758,738,737,736,755,746,744,743,742,739″ admin_label=”Gallery” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

World’s leading dataset of Terahertz wireless channels based on real-world channel sounders and simulators Welcome to our open data platform, jointly developed by TWC Lab and our cooperative partners, to advance Terahertz (THz) research worldwide. Since wireless channels are the foundation for designing a wireless communication system in the new spectrum and new environments, it is imperative to study the THz radio propagation channels for 6G future wireless communications. Studying wireless channel features relies on the physical channel measurements with channel sounders. The characteristics of the wireless channel are then analyzed based on the measurement results for developing channel models. Channel models capture the nature of wave propagation with reasonable complexity and allow the fair comparison of different algorithms, designs and performance in wireless networks. channel characteristics in the THz band might be different from those of the mmWave and cmWave bands. Due to the smaller wavelength, waves in the THz band interact through reflection, scattering and diffraction with smaller environmental structures, such as surface roughness with sub-millimeter dimensions, and suffer from absorption and scattering by molecules and tiny particles in the atmosphere. They therefore exhibit unique behaviors compared with those in lower frequency bands. Though methodologies of channel modeling in the THz band inherit from those in the mmWave band, a specific modeling and parameterization of THz channels is still required in order to accurately characterize THz wave propagation for diverse application scenarios for 6G.

Measurement Scenario and Results

1. The system is composed of the Tx module, the Rx module, and the Ceyear 3672C VNA. The VNA generates radio frequency (RF) and local oscillator (LO) sources. The signals from RF and LO sources are multiplied by 27 and 24, respectively. As a result, the transmitted signal reaches the carrier frequencies ranging from 260 GHz to 400 GHz, and the mixed intermediate frequency (IF) signal has the frequency of 7.6 MHz. The IF signals at Tx and Rx modules are both sent back to the VNA, and the transfer function of the channel is calculated as the ratio of the two frequency responses.

* We appreciate the collaboration with Ceyear, Nanjing Nuo Zhi Jie and National Instruments to establish our channel measurement system.

https://sites.gc.sjtu.edu.cn/twcd/wp-content/uploads/sites/45/2023/07/video-twdlab.mp4

Channel Data Processing

Data post-processing software is developed based on MATLAB.
