The lab aims to develop innovative design and manufacturing methods under connectivity and complexity. Our research will promote the development of next-generation products and systems along with the emerging technological breakthroughs such as Cyber-physical Systems, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Mixed Reality (MR), and Smart Manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.gc.sjtu.edu.cn\/youyibi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/Lab-figure20260514-scaled.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1008\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Particularly, our research is emphasized on:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Data-driven Design for Market Systems (\u9762\u5411\u5e02\u573a\u7684\u6570\u636e\u9a71\u52a8\u4ea7\u54c1\u8bbe\u8ba1): extract design insights and predict design trends from open and closed datasets to support product design in a highly competitive and uncertain market. Involved methods include data analytics, design optimization, text mining, graph computing, network analysis and modeling, and generative AI for design.<\/li>\n<li>Robotics for Smart Manufacturing (\u673a\u5668\u4eba\u4e0e\u667a\u80fd\u5236\u9020): develop algorithms, methods and devices to support the information perception and decision-making of robots in the context of manufacturing.
